Crop Monitoring Program

This comprehensive soil and tissue testing program covers over 30 crops. The intensive fertility management program presents N, P, K windows and preferred levels for other nutrients. Growers receive graphs with recommended N, P, and K levels for each sampling period to help meet yield goals.

The Weather Information Network

Access to a weather monitoring system is available to growers through an extensive network of field and base stations. Analyzing up-to-date weather data can eliminate unnecessary sprays and or improve spray timing. Other functions include: irrigation scheduling (C-Probes), insect GDD and crop growth stages.

Cable free soil moisture monitoring tool that improves your irrigation management decisions. Several years of experience with wireless capacitance probes show a potential to substantially reduce water use while improving yield and crop quality.

Grid Sampling

Soil samples taken from 2 1/2 acre grids across a field. A global positioning system lets WFS pinpoint grids and develop detailed maps. Grid samples detect field variations and a variable rate applicator can adjust fertilizer rates accordingly.

Variable Rate Application

Based on grid sample results, the rate of a fertilizer application can be varied across a field. WFS offers both dry and liquid Variable Rate Technology (VRT) at selected locations. The VRT process allows for products to be applied more efficiently. VRT can apply more product where the nutrient is deficient and less where nutrient amounts are already sufficient.

Disease & Nematodes

WFS uses cooperating labs to identify crop diseases and determine if soils are infesting with nematodes.
